TWIN PEAKS . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ROADHOUSE / COLONIAL INN

EXPERIENCE THE REAL TWIN PEAKS!

The Roadhouse had a special mystery; it was a place where secrets were confided and clandestine meetings took place in an environment of cool-ass hip rock music and local revelry.
You never knew who would be there or what their benign, sinister or life-saving plans were.
Like all Lynchian abodes, the Roadhouse emitted an ambiance of deep dark secrets that were absorbed into the wood walls from years of Twin Peaks’ locals, transients and visitors revealing their innermost desires, virtues and malicious intent.

From the 1993 photo above, if you walked around the right corner of the building you would see the entrance to the Colonial Inn. The left side of the Colonial Inn was used in the series as the front of the Roadhouse and appeared pretty much the same as when we visited.

Looking at the photo now makes me realize the remarkable way Lynch was able to take simple everyday innocent structures and just by his involvement turn them into ominous yet intriguing places. This, of course, is Lynch’s magic and what made this trip to Twin Peaks irresistible.

Next up; a series of rare and interesting Twin Peaks artifacts.
