TWIN PEAKS GAZETTE

As a certified Twin Peaks Resident/Community Member in good standing I received the Twin Peaks Gazette – the publication’s motto is, “Something is different”.

While this issue and the only other two issues published (Vols. #1 and #3) were actual papers about the news, events and people of Twin Peaks; this issue’s cover stories focused on the issues that Lynch and Frost were dealing with in the real world of networks and ratings.

The attempt was made to scan all eight pages of this TPG, but proved excessive for this site’s posts’ intent – maybe some day – but for now, below is a sample page of the TPG:

ENJOY A GOOD “CUP OF JOE”

Today you can personalize anything with POD websites, but back in the ’90s
products were either licensed or unlicensed – here are examples of each.

The Twin Peaks Sheriff Department coffee cup came as a gift with a subscription to
the Twin Peaks Gazette and is stamped as an official Twin Peaks Licensed Product.
The Twin Peaks Coffee Break / A Good “Cup of Joe” is not, or is just not marked,
and was purchased at the Alpine Blossom and Gift Shop in North Bend back in early Fall 1993.

Both are vintage Twin Peaks memorabilia and both have held many cupfuls of Joe.

EXPERIENCE THE REAL TWIN PEAKS!

Here are a couple of rare items from the Twin Peaks Archives.
As an official member of the Twin Peaks Community, I was privy to all efforts to keep
Twin Peaks on the air.

(Click on both above and below archival images to enlarge.)

The above artifacts are remembrances of a welcomed world that many of us experienced first-run on TV whereupon mysteries unfolded that tingled unexplored places in our minds via cool hip music, excellent actors, quirky dialogue, the supernatural, otherworldly environments set among suburbia and great ancient forests, and of course, all courtesy of David Lynch and Mark Frost.

My heartfelt appreciation of the era of Twin Peaks and for its limited run, and even its ending – it was a great ride for TV. To have anything of quality for any amount of time is a gift.

. . . but that was then, and now our continued bond with Twin Peaks has manifested in the ride that is being built today – so hang tight until Twin Peaks 2016!

Until then, May the Forest Be With You!

TWIN PEAKS . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey Horne) outside the entrance to the real Great Northern; the Salish Lodge

 EXPERIENCE THE REAL TWIN PEAKS!

Here’s a glossy publicity photo of actress Sherilyn Fenn outside the entrance to the real Great Northern, the Salish Lodge in Snoqualmie, Washington.
Sherilyn was perfectly cast as Audrey Horne, the jail-bait rich-girl mischief-maker who bravely changed into Twin Peaks’ head “Nancy Drew” with Donna and Maddie in back-up “Hardy Girls” mode.

When we checked-in to the “Great Northern” our room was just to the right of the front door and all the way down to the end with a picturesque view atop the Snoqualmie (Whitetail) Falls, which are the third highest waterfalls in the United States. The drop is longer than that of Niagara Falls, but not as wide.
Check out this never before seen aerial drone video of the Falls.

 EXPERIENCE THE REAL TWIN PEAKS!

Here’s a terrific May 1990 portrait of the young actors Kyle MacLachlan and Michael Ontkean lookin’ deadly serious and keeping a straight face while doing their best to emulate David Lynch’s famous gravity-defying hair-dos.

These two were the alternate universe superhero duo that, while on extreme ends of the criminal investigation spectrum, were uncannily symbiotic. A brilliant piece of casting, as were all of the actor/residents of Twin Peaks!
