TWIN PEAKS . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . the Great Northern / Salish Lodge

On our first day, just after getting settled in our room at the Great Northern, we took a short hike on a trail that leads down from the front of the Great Northern/ Salish Lodge. This shot was taken from about halfway down the trail looking up at the Snoqualmie Falls and the Lodge.

You can almost see our room in this photo; it was just around the corner at the farthest right of the Lodge on the first floor.  It overlooked the hydroelectric power plant that can be seen behind and to the right of the falls.

As if planned perfectly, we left the window open and at night from our bed we could see the misty fog-laden pine woods across the Snoqualmie River at the top of the falls with a full moon perfectly-framed in the open window.
The beginning of our Twin Peaks adventure started out just right with the pines gently swaying in the moonlight with an occasional ominous hoot from an owl – which are not what they seem.
